All leading mobile manufacturers are trying to offer phones with the latest built-in touch technology in addition to some other bells and whistles in order to have their phones be labeled as a world class phone. Mobile phones consist of two types of Touch screen either Resistive or Capacitive. A resistive touch screen generally consists of two sheets of resistive materials separated by a narrow gap. When you press the screen with a finger or stylus, the sheet comes into contact and the location of the touch will be identified and registered. While a capacitive touch screen acts like a capacitor and reacts only when there are changes in the electrical field. Only a gentle tap with the finger changes the field of current. The capacitive screen does not work if you tap the screen with a glove or using a stylus. So this little difference in operation, can yield a great deal of performance and personal customization, based on the specific needs.

The best touch screen phone in the market on our list are:

HTC HD 2

HTC HD2 has 4.3 inches capacitive touch screen and a snapdragon processor designed for pure finger touch control. Browse web pages, pictures or emails with the simple touch of a finger. Touch FLO finger responses faster and more accurately on the large spacious screen. The capacitive touch experience combined with an elegant interface optimized for the spacious display, lets you easily adjust the settings, set up calendar appointments, and navigate the menus with only the touch of a finger. It’s just that easy!

SAMSUNG BEHOLD T-919

The behold has an excellent display measuring 3.0 inches TFT touch screen. It displays 256 colors with 240 X 320 pixels. The phone has a traditional portrait alphanumeric keypad and landscape QWERTY keyboard gives a marvelous display. The phone has a built in accelerometer that rotates the images and web pages automatically. It operates using proximity and light sensors. The proximity sensors turn off the display when the user brings the phone near the ear. The ambient brightens the display in lit or sunny areas. The phone has built-in FM radio with RDS which is, obviously, an added advantage of the phone.

APPLE IPHONE

The Apple iphone has a 3.5 inch screen is one of the best touch screen phones available on the market it has a responsive touch screen and it quickly launches the applications the moment you touch the screen. Browse the internet, view the email attachments faster than ever before!! It has a wonderful display with all other supporting systems and the QWERTY keyboard only appears when you need. Talk of ingenious engineering!

NOKIA 5530

The Nokia 5530 Xpress Music has a 2.9 inch wide touchscreen with a resolution of 360 X 640 pixels and it displays 16 million colors. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, 3.2MP camera with LED flash, 3.5 mm audio jack. It unfortunately does not have 3G GSM support as in the 5800. However, this Nokia has GPRS support and a reasonable speed allowing you to surf the Web or check your email.
