Mobile phones have become an indispensable item in our lives. Whether you are a student, a business person, a stay at home spouse, a parent or a child, you have to have a mobile phone. You need to keep in touch with your friends and family and you need to stay up to date with news and activities that you enjoy.
If at the beginning of the millennium, mobile phones only did a handful of things besides offering the possibility to have a conversation with another person, now, in 2011, they can do more than we have ever dreamed of.
Technology has brought a multitude of applications on the market. There as many as 9,000 applications and counting, because every day more and more of those gadgets are released. Apple, Windows Mobile, HTC, Android and Symbian are just some of the creators of mobile apps on the market.
And those apps range from the useful to the useless. Statistics show that at the beginning of the month the official number of apps available was around 10,000. Forecasts show an increase with as much as 400 apps per week.
You may have an app to deliver your email on your phone daily, or one that gives you the latest news and weather forecast, or you may have a virtual pet that requires more attention and love than a real one. Apps are supposed to be useful, fun, and entertaining and the companies that create them know exactly what people are looking for.
