T-Mobile in partnership with Samsung unveiled the Samsung T139 and marketed it as a basic, no frills phone which fulfills all your calling (and perhaps to some extent some social networking) needs. The ultra new Samsung T139 is a VGA camera flip phone and is one of the more sturdy models we’ve tested so far. It has a smooth and compact casing designed in blue-gray. It’s compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand and is lightweight for easy travel. It offers all the basic functions of an incredible phone while sporting a very sleek, elegant design which makes it quite stylish. Whether you’re chatter, the compulsive texter or camera fan, the affordable Samsung T139 lets you do all three and much more in style and pomp! Gray is the new black.
The T139 emblematic of the flip phone technology has swept the cell phone industry a few years back. It’s compact (3.7 in x 1.9 in x 0.7 inch) and weighs a mere 3 ounces. There are no fancy distracters; the phone is designed for its purpose, to make calls, plain and simple!
You simply never know when that spectacular moment is going to flash in front of you (Youtube anyone?). The awesome news is you can capture all of them with the built-in VGA camera. The VGA camera takes photos in four resolutions (from 640x480 ranging up to 120x96). You can also use the digital zoom to get a close-up photo without much effort resulting in some crisp pictures. So if you’re in the back row of your favorite rock concert, you can still snap a fantastic shot with the 4x zoom. That’s awesome!
If you are a hands-off kind of person, The T139 is the phone you’ll want to grab. It pairs with Bluetooth devices seamlessly so that you can chat without holding it! You can wirelessly connect it to hands-free accessories such as headsets and car kits.
If you are a fervent texter then look no further. You can choose between text, picture and instant messaging. You can send a message or photo to any cell phone or email address. Or, stay connected by choosing your instant messenger services. Although it does not have the extended social networking features of some other models, for its price and basic approach, this phone does a good job.
The SGH-T139's phonebook carries upwards of 300 contacts and allows entry for five phone numbers, an e-mail address and notes. Several polyphonic ringtones are also available and the phone comes equipped with most of the standard features we’ve come to love: alarm, calculator, tip calculator (quite handy when you’re hanging out with friends), world clock, currency converter etc…The phone is web-enabled with web2go. Browse current news, download ringtones, wallpapers, games and much more.
To summarize, the Samsung T139 is easy to use, has good call quality and some advanced functionalities such as Bluetooth. The dual-band Samsung T139 puts various messaging options, Bluetooth wireless technology and web access all into one remarkable clamshell. If you’re looking to go back to basics, embrace this phone!
