With the Samsung Gravity 2, T-Mobile is looking to beef up its’ line up of economical phones which operate on its ever impressive, expanding 3G network. Although on the outside, it may look like any ordinary side sliding phone, this stylish model differentiates itself on several accounts.
The new handset offers a thinner and sleeker design than its predecessor, the Gravity. Available in delightful bright colors (Berry Mauve and Metallic Pumpkin), and with its very spacious slide out QWERTY keyboard, this model will be especially attractive to those who text message a lot as the roomy keyboard gives the fingers breathing space. The display orientation automatically adjusts from portrait to landscape mode when the keyboard slides out so you don’t have to keep flipping your phone around.
The quad-band (GSM 850/900/1,800/1,900; UMTS/HSDPA) makes audio call quality pretty decent and the features are quite sophisticated and plentiful for a model in this price range: e-mail functionalities (you can create email accounts with various providers such as Yahoo!, AOL, Google), IM Instant Messenger (AOL®, Yahoo!®, Windows Live Messenger®, Google Talk®), a decent HTML Web browser, RSS reader, music player, 2.0 megapixel camera with zoom. It even come equipped with a Telenav GPS for when you’re driving or just need to find your bearings!
The 2.3-inch, QVGA LCD screen looks very hip and vibrant. Users looking for messaging focused phones with advanced messaging and social networking capabilities will find Gravity 2 to be a bargain. The Samsung Gravity 2 comes loaded with some other features which have become standard in almost all phones: Video Messaging, address book, Bluetooth wireless technology capabilities, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, micro SD memory slot, phone book, photo caller ID, speaker phone, customizable ringtones, voice recognition etc. In addition, you get the full browsing experience with high-speed 3G Internet and Web2go services. The built-in camcorder on the Gravity 2 works amazingly well.
