The T-Mobile Sidekick slide is a sleek flip design quick messaging device with a bright Swivel display like that of its predecessor. Compared to other sidekick phones the new slide up screen is the biggest improvement over its design. The cell phone offers all the latest gadgets like trackball for navigation, built-in GPS, push email, Bluetooth connectivity, 1.3 camera, music player, 4GB microSD slot and much more.
The cell phone has an amazing bright clear Swivel display with TFT screen of 2.5 inches which shows 65k colors with resolution of 320x240 pixels. The huge full QWERTY keyboard with raised keys allows for quick web browsing and easy text reading. It is thinner and measures 119.4 x 61 x 17.8 mm at a weight of 150 grams.
The slide has a built-in 1.3MP camera with 1280x960 pixels. There is no autofocus lens and video recording; however there's a photo counter to provide you a choice of three image sizes and two exposure settings. You can organize the photos into albums and send them to family and friends via e-mail or multimedia messages. The music player supports MP3 polyphonic ringtones and there is 2.5mm headjack instead of the standard 3.5mm.
The cell phone has a strong internal 128 MB which is expandable up to 4GB with the use of microSD memory cards. It can keep a record of 2000 contacts including dialed, received and missed calls. The Sidekick slide has a strong Li-Ion battery of 1130mAh which lasts up to a maximum of 156 hours standby and 7 hours in talk time. This handheld device gives snappy performance with 225MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor.
The phone uses the latest technology, GPS navigation for webbrowsing and turn by turn directions, Bluetooth and EDGE data transfer. It comes equipped with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a belt holster, a wired headset, and reference material.
It supports personal email, SMS, MMS and instant messaging including access to T-Mobile sites and also MySpace. The phone chat clients includes AOL instant messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.
